June's Baby Blessing

June's Baby Blessing fell on Easter weekend.
William's family came from all over to celebrate this face:

With a face like that, you get plenty of attention:

William gave June the sweetest blessing.

My favorite moment was after the blessing. William sat down next to me holding June, and with a little tear in his eye he smiled and said, "June is pretty special, huh?" It tugged at my heart strings.

Anyway...

After the 8:00am blessing, we went back to my mom's house for a brunch. We had french toast, thick-cut bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, and David made his famous Vita-mix smoothies. AMAZING.

Daniel was the Juicer, William was the Overseer/Quality Patrol, David was Meat Manager (bacon and sausage), Robs was Frenchy (French Toast maker):

Here's one of Alan making a cool face, Martha and David on the Vita-mix Smoothies, Easton helping with juice, and Steve on the bacon:

Camera-hungry:

After everyone was well-fed, we turned our attention back to June.

Uncle Danny Boy:

Uncle Robs was a champ... June could sit and talk to Robs for hours.

Chillin':

I love this picture because there are so many hands touching June:

I think she was in heaven:

1 Month

June turned 1 month old (2 days ago, actually).

Everyone said they grow so fast... but this is ridiculous.

Things I love about June:
1. Her serious stretches every time she wakes up
2. Smiling and laughing to herself when she's half awake
3. Her toots as a result of stretching or coughing
4. Her furrowed brow
5. How much she hates bathing, except when we wash her head.
6. Her pear-shaped torso
7. Her fake cries
8. Her slightly reddish hair (we are crossing our fingers)
9. Her kissable cheeks
10. Her fascination with the ceiling fan

This is my new favorite picture of all time:

Easters at Grandma Marilyn's

Here's Grandma Marilyn with the 2 cutest granddaughters ever:

Having fun at Grandma's house is as easy as stealing Easter candy from a baby.
Just ask Uncle Kent:

This year, we had our Family Easter Dinner 2 weeks early because June's baby blessing will fall on Easter Sunday.

I wanted to share some traditions we have on this blessed day.

Easter Outfits

A KID Easter Egg Hunt - Each egg is filled with candy and some have $1 bills.

We also have an ADULT Easter Egg Hunt. Each egg has a $1 bill and the prize egg has a $20. You've never seen a real brawl until you've seen us Coombs battle it out for those eggs. It's a competition to the core.

This year, William received the big prize. It's going to take a long time for my brothers and I to shake the feeling of rage.

And the following are some NEW traditions added.

A talent show, featuring Grant break-dancing to Justin Beiber and Carson showing off his kicks he learned in Karate Class.

Nothing says "Easter" like whacking a pinata full of candy.
Here are some pictures I captured of Carson swinging for it. I wish you could have heard his laughs...that was the best part.

I can't wait for next year's Easter bash.
I'm totally going to train June to find that $20 egg.

Baby in da hood.

What's cuter than a Baby June?

Happy Birthday Mom!

(Grandma scrunching Baby June)

This post is waaaaaaay overdue, but since it's my mom's birthday, I thought it would be appropriate to write how amazing she is.

Since June was born, my mom has been a lifesaver. I was lucky enough to have her stay a few days to help, but she went above and beyond her calling as a mom/grandma.

She cooked,
cleaned,
organized,
ran errands to the store and my school,
bought much-needed supplies (newborn diapers, smaller sleepers, burp cloths, etc.),
bought supplies that were NOT needed but wanted (Hershey Easter Eggs, my drink {half diet, half regular}, etc.),
watched June as I napped/showered/went to the doctor,
babysat June while William and I went on our first date in a LONG time,
cried when I cried,
bought delicious snacks when I was told to change my diet,
brought lunch when a sandwich just didn't cut it,
and answered the phone ANYTIME I needed something.
And on top of all that, when I go back to finish off the school year, my mom has offered to babysit June.

All of this is nothing out of the ordinary. My mom is an incredibly generous lady.

Thank you mom!
Love, Jenny & June
