I actually re-upholstered a couch. A COUCH! I took a couch apart and put it back together again. By the way, thank you mom for the couch.
Well, here's it is!
Before:
After:
My favorite part are the knobs on the arms:
It was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. There were injuries (sore back, William stepped on nails barefoot) and tears (it took forever to complete and there was nowhere to sit).
I also learned that you can't learn how to sew by re-upholstering an entire couch. My cushions looked like a beached whale had made its home on top of them. So I had a guy named Armento help me with that (and by 'help' I mean I paid him to fix it).
Now... on to the next couch!
We picked it up for free in someone's yard.
I promise it doesn't smell like the way it looks.
When I'm done re-upholstering it, I'll show you.
See you in 6 months!
Jenny (and William),
ReplyDeleteThe couch is awesome and looks totally professional! The second one will be easier because your're exerienced now. We should have a race to see who gets the love seat done first.
Love,
Martha
Umm....can we please hire you to come over and do some much needed projects at our house? PLEASE? You are SO talented!!!
ReplyDeleteI just though I would give you a heads up to let you know that I am going to burgle/burgel/burgal your house and steal this couch. Your skills are most superior and I kneel before your mighty upholstering awesomeness. And the fabric choice is fan-freakin-tastic!
ReplyDeleteNice moves Jenny! Can't wait to see the rest of your house!
ReplyDeleteyou are so awesome I wish I had your kind of talent.
ReplyDeleteOh, wow!! This is amazing, I can't imagine accomplishing something like that. Can't wait to see more house pictures.
